Vintage 1950s BATES British Reynolds 531 steel Track/Pista frame set
Vintage 1950s BATES track frame in lovely restored used condition.
The frame features Reynolds 531 steel tubing and Nervex lugs.
The frame has been professionally re-sprayed.
All chrome is original, so has signs of age with some surface pitting.
All threads are in great condition and their are no issues to report.
Front wheel spacing is 97mm and rear is 109mm.
Seatpost diameter is 27.2mm.
The bottom bracket and headset thread are both British.
Top tube measures 22 1/2" inches (57cm) centre-to/centre and the vertical down tube measures 55.5cm c-t-c.
Frame numbers are stamped on the fork column, rear stays and also stamped under the BB.
Combined overall weight as pictured is 2988g.
It comes complete with the original TDC steel headset.
The frame features brake holes, which allowed the cyclist to ride on the road to the velodrome.
This gives both the option of using the frame as a road bike or removing the brakes for track use.
